Cruel Seas: Denny Class SGB (HMS Grey Goose)
This set contains:
- x1 Denny Class Steam Gun Boat (HMS Grey Goose) model.
- x1 Medium Wake card and x1 sheet of Royal Navy flags.
HMS Grey Goose was one of a small class of Steam Gun Boats (SGBs) built for the Royal Navy in the early 1940s. Designed as a ‘super-gunboat’ able to challenge the large and capable German E-Boats, only seven of these all-steel, steam-powered vessels would be completed out of a planned sixty. The largest ships operated by the Coastal Forces, they packed a punch with a single 3” gun, a 2pdr gun, two 20mm Oerlikons, numerous machine guns, and a brace of 21” torpedo tubes, effectively making them miniaturised destroyers, with a graceful silhouette to match (future releases may feature other named SGBs with alternative armaments).
Our new resin and metal kit depicts SGB9 (S309), HMS Grey Goose, under the command of Peter Scott (the son of famous polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott), who would be awarded a Distinguished Service Cross for gallantry in this role (and a Bar to the same for commanding the Steam Gun Boat Flotilla). Perfect for bigger games, or for when you want to really scare your German-playing friends, as well as recreating the actions in support of the Dieppe raid, Grey Goose is a fantastic addition to any Cruel Seas Royal Navy fleet.
Packed with weaponry and capable of dealing with anything the Kriegsmarine can throw at her, Grey Goose is a brilliant addition to your force, especially if you prefer to use smaller vessels and need something to deal with enemy ‘heavies’, or to form a centrepiece or flagship for your flotilla! If larger vessels come into view, her 3” gun and torpedoes make her a genuine threat to even the largest ships in Cruel Seas!
Please note that no physical ship card will be included with this model however rules can be downloaded from the links below.
